If sci-fi movies like Transformers, Wall-E, Star Wars and Terminator excite you then there's no doubt that "Lovotics" would do the same. Before you think it's the name of another sci-fi movie, let me tell you that it's actually a robot, that is capable of falling in love. Yes, you heard that right, it is indeed possible for the small, furry robot to imitate one of the most complex emotions known to mankind, love. Lovotics is the creation of an artificial intelligence researcher, Hooman Samani and his team from the National University of Singapore.

Lovotics is a step towards future where human and robots would possibly have a much more meaningful relationship. It is a small, cute looking, furry robot that is equipped with an artificial intelligence to love. That's not all, the cute robot is also capable of detecting the level of affection you have for it, so beware if you were thinking that it would be easy to deceive it. Programmed on how a couple behaves when in love, the robot can exhibit different emotions such as love, happiness, jealousy, disgust, surprise, angry, embarrassed and more.
From the outside, Lovotics is a furry little thing but from the inside it is nothing more than a machine fitted with microphones, cameras and many sensors. The way it communicates its love for you is also quite unique. It uses different colors of LED lights like yellow, blue, green or pink and a set of motions to display its feelings. And the small thing requires a lot of petting and cuddling later on if you ignore it for a while, while interacting with someone else. Quite possessive, I must say.
Lovotics, is a part of "human, robot love" study that Hooman Samani is currently working on. It's a very interesting concept technically although I doubt you would want a possessive robot lover, irrespective of its cuteness. However, Samani is still working on Lovotics to achieve more perfection on its emotions. So you never know, in future Lovotics might be the perfect life partner for you that you have been dreaming of all your life.
