There are millions of concept car and vehicle designs out there and with each passing day the number seems only to grow. So when you hear about another concept vehicle your immediate reaction is to feel that it will be destined to the drawing board and the fancy curves. But when you see a company like Lotus being associated with it, you know that stuff here is getting serious and it means business.
Concept Ice Vehicle (CIV) is a fabulous vehicle developed by Lotus and it almost looks like a giant spider on snow. The CIV was developed to aid research for the Moon Regan TransAntarctic Expedition. The biofuel powered, propeller-driven trike on skids is 4.5 meters long and 4.5 meters wide with an independent suspension all around. It also has ice penetrating radar to detect crevasses and is light enough for a man to pull it across difficult terrain, which basically makes it an Elise for explorers.

The vehicle also appears to have a spiked “foot” under the cockpit, perhaps for stopping on icy terrain. Just like many other concept vehicles the CIV is a visual treat but unlike many of those it is a reality thanks to Lotus. Do check out the two cool videos of the CIV on ice. Now that is the difference between throwing some big weight around and waiting in the wings to get that big break!

I think this is a very unrealistic concept for now but having Lotus handling it, I guess they will give this thing a run for their money. It is also great that it is powered by biofuel as well as having a propeller-driven trike on skids. suv accessories
