Can you imagine that a small device called ‘pen’ that every individual uses in their daily life can eliminate the need of a computer! Yes, this is true. Though, we have similar kind of innovations those are already ruling our shelves like Anoto pen and Leapfrog’s Fly pentop computer. Now, Livescribe has introduced its unique Smartpen that uses sensor to record what it writes when you write on a special ‘dot paper’ with a faint encoded background that the pen uses to know what you are writing on which individual piece of paper.
This smart pen facilitates users to record what they write to upload it afterwards on their computers and to make room for new ones. Besides writing and recording it also helps users to simplify algebraic equations what they write and even speaks the results.
This toy-like pen that comes bundled with a speaker and an OLED display to tell you about what you’re writing offer an excellent feature that enable you to record audio while writing notes at the same time, and after downloading your pens files to your PC you can also select text to get the audio that the pen was recording at that moment when you wrote it.
The pen not only offers place to store your written and audio notes but it also enables you to share your recorded writings, audio and animation with others and moreover you can also give your friends business cards printed on dot paper, and if they also possess a Livescribe pen they can even send you a note, just by writing on the back of the card. It connects to its PC software and the notes are transmitted to the cards owner.
The pen is expected to sell somewhere around $200 but no ballpark about the price of its special dot paper that this electronic pen uses to showoff all its goodies.
