Building materials have always been bulky, especial iron and steel beams. You need bloody cranes to lift them from one place to another. The LiteSteelBeam (LSB) is however a lightweight introduction to the problem. It is a 40% lighter steel structural beam, which is equally strong as any hot-rolled steel I-beam. A result of extensive research and testing in laboratories, this material with such unique properties can be worked like engineered wood using drills, nails and cutters. The LSB can be integrated with wood framing and can also be used in long-span headers. Available in Australia now, the LSB is will soon be found in the US.
