The Bug is collection of various open source hardware and software modules. One such major hardware module is BugBase, which comes with an ARM1136JF-S CPU and 128MB of RAM. Other features are built-in WiFi, a rechargeable battery, USB, Ethernet, and a mini LCD with button controls.

The striking feature of BugBase is that it can expand with upto four BugModules, such as a colour LCD display, a motion detector/accelerometer, a digital camera/videocam, and a GPS locator. In the coming days, it will enable engineers to develop more gadgets of their choice.

Bug Lab is planning to market the BugBase by the end of this year. However, the six-person startup has not disclosed about the price of the hardware module.
