Surrounded by uncertainties and an infectious environment, the underprivileged in the underdeveloped world are vulnerable to a range of diseases owning to poor living conditions, lack of sanitation, clean drinking water, and very poor medical facilities. While the hospitals and dispensaries in such areas are devoid of big scanners, ultrasound and similar machines, thus accounting for a number of undiagnosed deaths. As a solution thus, a concerned designer Evan McCormack has devised a Lightweight Portable Ultrasound Machine concept that can be carried by doctors and medical practitioners anywhere in case of emergencies and contingencies and also to remote areas. The portable ultrasound machine for easy mobility can be slung over the shoulder, worn on the chest or strapped to the thigh.
