Take your art instinct to new heights with the new open source Light scythe system that enables you to write, create and visualize your creations using light tube not on a paper or projector wall instead in front of you anywhere in the air with frozen images that can be captured using a camera. Remember it's not just a small light art system like those you have gone through earlier but it's more advanced and takes your light art to new heights. With it you can write impressive looking texts or create stunning paintings without compromising on the size or comfort.

The requirements:
To use this interesting invention, you first require a 2m light strip (programmable), a computer system along with a Seeduino stalker, Xbee60 MW chip antenna, couple of logic level converters in addition to a small potentiometer, a push button, battery and some miscelleneous plugs and sockets. Along with these, it also requires a couple of controller and coding softwares available on open source platform.

How it works:
It works on the basic principle of painting the photo using correct light exposure from a programmable light source and thus provides the opportunity to identify one's creative and artistic abilities.Gavin who loves to call him the mechatronics guy from Sydney, Australia identified this amazing phenomenon by using a programmable LED strip inside a acrylic fixture while controlling the exposure from a receiver and the power source attached. Different coding software are used to emit light in correct proportions to recreate the visual either text or painting in the air. Xbee link does the data transportation during the process and Arduino takes care of the coding.
Capturing the art:
Going through your art again or showcasing it to others is always a great feeling and thus capturing the creations becomes important. It's easy to capture the light art using a camera but it does require additional care in this case. By keeping a tab on the exposure and using a long exposure you get the correct image.
