Life in a Day: YouTube’s intiative for user-generated documentary movie

After years of online video resource providing supremacy, YouTube has taken the gauntlet on its shoulder for an historic global experiment that craves to portray a single day on Earth via a documentary. And if you are wondering the data from which it will be compiled, well already 80,000 videos from 197 different countries have already been submitted on YouTube’s Life in a Day channel by users. The videos consist of a short glimpse into the lives of people from around the world, and you can submit a short video footage too.

The submitted entries will be edited by Director Kevin Macdonald which is being produced by Ridley Scott and the documentary will be showcased in January 2011 on YouTube.
