LG tries to challenge iPod with new 8GB 'MFJM53' music players

Whoever steps in the tight but expanding MP3 industry has to encounter the challenge of the ubiquitous iPod. The new competitor in the ring is LG, flexing its new LG MFJM53 MP3 player. It is packed with a provoking 8GB HDD and claims to dazzle Apple's sheen with its 1.77', 262,144-colour, touch-sensitive OLED screen.

The MFJM53 is a Windows Media device, supporting tracks with and without DRM. The black or white player supports MP3, WAV, OGG, AVI MPEG 4 formats and is adorned with a microphone on board, a line-in port for recording, and an FM radio. The 88g 10.1 x 4.8 x 1.4 cm player promises up to 30 hours of playback.
