E-paper has already been touted as a sound alternative to the newspapers, magazines, and books and the colored e-paper further add wings to the idea. Now, South Korea’s LG Philips LCD is claiming to have built the world’s first A4-sized color electronic-paper, which is paper-thin and bendable panel.
The new color e-paper measures 14.1 inches diagonally and is a mere 0.3 millimetres thick. LG claimed it to display up to 4,096 colors. Chung In-Jae, chief technology officer and executive vice president of the company said:
The new display has been designed to be energy-efficient and possible applications will let the customers create new products, which other than being expedient save natural assets too.
