Lenovo came out with ultra small prototype PC, which weighs only 300g. It incorporates Menlow, a new platform from Intel, for which it had planned the launch in 2008. It suits mini - and sub-notebooks due to smaller size components and includes integrated hardware decode for high-definition videos. The PC uses Linux as its OS. It will display all the necessary icons such as internet, entertainment, and Home on the 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resolution LCD display. Other components include 45nm process Silverthorne microprocessor, supports a 4- or 8-Gbyte SSD, Bluetooth, and EDGE or TDS-CDMA. Further, it has a wireless LAN and startup time of 20 seconds. It hopes to be available for marketing in mid 2008, in China, and may come to other countries in 2009. It has been priced for about ¥15 per Rmb1 or $685.
