atomic clock1

In case you’re one of those people who hate to be late and don’t relish having to constantly adjust their clocks that keep slowing down, U.S. physicists have a special gift for you. The latest atomic clock will neither lose nor gain a second for the coming 200 million years. Apparently the new clock even beats the one currently owned but U.S Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology which is expected to report the exact accurate time for 80 million years. Not that us lazy bums need to go out and celebrate the blessed event but the new atomic clock can be critical for future deep space explorations and synchronizing telecom networks ‘that some day lead to things like hands-free driving in satellite-guided cars.’ But I’m not too sure you’ll be able to land a spare atomic clock for your personal use anytime soon so don’t throw away your imitation Rolex just yet!
