Things are really changing with the times and finally, laser beams are being placed on top of a massive 35-ton-plus truck. The high-energy laser weapon system is aimed at destroying rockets, artillery shells and mortar rounds. Tests will be conducted in 2010 and battle-worthy laser weapons may be developed by 2013. Boeing and Raytheon have worked separately to test these laser weapons. Also, the Airborne Laser might see the light of the day finally too. This might take the military strategies to a different realm. These laser weapons are going to herald the new age of weaponry and make it possible for countries to protect themselves from the onslaught of attacks.
