D2 Blu-ray Drive by LaCie is a new external DVD burner that props up Blu-ray competence, which will allow you to hook up your PC through USB 2.0 or FireWire 400 and will write to single layer 25GB Blu-ray discs along with dual layer 50GB discs.
Supporting writing to CD’s as well as DVDs, Blu-ray burn at BD-R 2x and BD-RE 2x speed and features Easy Media Creator 8.2 and CinePlayer 3.4 for Windows, in addition to Toast 7.1.1 Titanium for OS X.
The new drive is expected to throng the market by mid November. No words on pricing.
