KT has joined hands with Microsoft to develop a low-cost ‘managed PC’. No details are yet out regarding software and other in-depth technical specifications of the PC, including its actual form and display.
The ‘managed PC’ is likely to be a network-based thin client, running applications and multimedia content from KT’s servers. The set up will ensure more security without any virus attacks as KT’s servers will manage the whole system. Perhaps, the phenomenon of churning out low-tech systems fueled by the OLPC has something special stored in it, especially for emerging geeks in the developing countries.
