Some day your high-res TVs could be dwarfed to the size of a postage stamp, and that day isn’t very far away, for the Japanese (Kopin Corporation) have succeeded in developing a 0.27-inch VGA color-filter liquid crystal display with 600 x 480 resolution. The pixels were compressed to the size of the cells (RBCs) by shrinking the individual color dots to just 2.9 x 8.7 µm apiece. Kopin is next targeting a 2048 x 2048 resolution which would be smaller than a postage stamp. Imagine a postage stamp with a 1080p stat!
