Kome Kami Switch - Control your gadgets with a wink!
Controlling your gadgets with a clap or whistle is a thing of the past. Trust the Japanese to make even the most innovative technology look obsolete. Well, I'm not exaggerating, the Japanese surely know how to churn up new concepts to replace the old ones, not to mention that even their old ideas are pretty futuristic for the rest of the world. Japanese researcher Kazuhiro Taniguchi claims that he has developed a remote control system that will empower people to control their iPods with the flick of an eye. Kome Kami Switch or Temple Switch, is a tiny system which can be fit into the side of a pair of eyeglasses. It comprises of a single-chip computer and a couple of infrared sensors; and relies on the movements of the temple to get the job done. A person can start his iPod by closing both eyes for one second, whereas blinking again will stop the machine. That's not all folks, you can even skip to the next tune or go back one step by winking your right and left eye respectively.

A pleasant invention for iPod freaks, one might say. But the show doesn't stop here, the system is ALSO capable of operating other household electronics, including television sets, air conditioners and room lighting. Further, Mr Taniguchi believes that the system can eventually be adapted to run cellphones, wheelchairs and robots.
Simply amazing!
