With Microvision Laser Pocket Projector, big viewing experiences of movies, photos and content from cell phones, digital cameras, laptops and personal media players will soon be a reality.

Microvision has announced its plans of unveiling an advanced prototype of a handled, battery-powered, 'plug and play' projector at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (2008 CES). The stand-alone pico-projector called the 'SHOW' intended for mobile device applications can project a widescreen, WVGA (848 X 480 pixels), DVD quality images and is based on the company's single micro-mirror laser scanning display technology.
PicoP is an ultra miniature projection module capable of producing full color, high-resolution images but small enough and low powered to be embedded directly into an accessory pico projector that connects to mobile devices.
The pico-projector uses micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) to downsize a digital projector to a palm-sized battery-powered unit. Winner of the Frost and Sullivan Research's innovation award last year, the product has managed to snap in quite a few customers including Motorola and hopes to add more into its kitty soon.
