Gabriel Nderitu doesn’t even know whether his DIY aircraft will ever take to the skies yet the Kenyan aircraft enthusiast is leaving no stone unturned to finish his homebuilt flying machine. Nderitu’s boyhood interest couldn’t have manifested had it not been for the dawn of the internet age in information starved Kenya. The aviation enthusiast took help from internet to assemble his dream airplane draped in aluminum sheet. It features a Toyota engine that turns up to 4,000 rpm, driving a 74-inch wooden propeller through a simple reduction belt drive.
Still under construction Nderitu isn’t sure whether his creation would ever get licensed let alone fly yet he wants to etch out his childhood passion in the hope that it would inspire someone else to make a better version that flies.
