Whether it’s your work, an amusing gaming-session, or for both on your Mac, peripherals make you expand the sphere of usability of
your laptops; thanks to a new version of sd200v Notebook Docking Station flaunted by Kensington that makes the things work likewise. On Tuesday, Kensington brought
a new updation to its existing sd200v notebook docking station that makes it the first devices for the Mac to support a display connection via USB. The device follows the footprints of the concept originally developed by DisplayLink, which enables Mac OS X systems to connect up to five USB add-ons, ordinary peripherals with video output across a single USB connection: DVI and VGA displays and audio through a single cable. The device is potent enough to turn your flimsy notebook into a complete desktop and the Mac mini to use more than one monitor at a time. Compatible with
any Intel-based Mac and Windows PCs, the sd200v is a real bargain at around $130.
Dual Video Adapter (meant for only video connection) is another peripheral announced by the company that will be in the wild this April for $100.
