94-year-old Wing Commander Kenneth Wallis is all passionate about flying; if he had wings, he’d probably been the busiest with them. Jokes aside, the World War II veteran who’s been flying aircrafts since 1936 and making his own autogyros since 1959 now has the Zeus III – a hand built flying machine that wears the best of a he world’s loudest motorbike and a giant lawn mower in the engine. Good to take to the skies well within 30 seconds from ignition the 240lb metal contraption has twin propellers, rotor blade, steering lever and a saggy mesh seat besides the basic engine and fuel tank. Kenneth Wallis with the Zeus III flying machine Kenneth Wallis aims to hit 130mph to shatter his previous best of 129.1mph, but for that he may have to go to US or France as UK Civil Aviation Authority has limited legal top speed for Autogyros to just 70mph. See a video demonstration of the Zeus III after the jump.
