kapten-gps_9ZG6s_3342A GPS device without a screen...far-fetched? Not really. We seem to have forgotten the power of speech. Kapsys hasn’t! The French manufacturer is all set to unveil its one-of-a-kind mini portable GPS device entitled Kapten. And this unique gadget incorporates a voice recognition interface. Designed primarily for pedestrians scouting for directions, Kapten also includes a text-to-speech feature. TeleAtlas will offer its map information, while Kapsys itself provides additional city-related information on its website. The 50g, 74×44x13mm gadget has a SiRF Star III GPS receiver and also features Bluetooth, MP3 player, FM Radio and hands-free capability. Storage is taken care of by its 4GB internal memory. The device will debut mid-September with a competitive price tag of 150 Euros.
