Modes of personal aviation in practical life have come clear as commercially viable advancements, and now in the modes, it’s time for green jetpacks. All those flying fantasies that you’ve kept veiled just because you didn’t want to harm the environment may now find wings with the Jetley Flyer - a water-powered jetpack shown at the seven-day London International Boat Show. The water-powered jetpack by Canadian engineers was seen hovering up to 30 meters in the air at speeds of 22mph over the Thames River in East London courtesy of the jetpack’s powerful engine that pumps water through a downward pointing tube to propel the pilot off the surface. Priced at about £110,000 (approx. $170,600) the jetpack is a perfect New Year's gift for all nerds around.
