Jawbone ERA Bluetooth distinguishes itself with accelerometer and Motion-X technology

Since 2006, Jawbone (once known as Aliph) has remained a big name devising sophisticated Bluetooth headsets. The company has revolutionized the industry with its voice dialing and information applications delivering high level voice quality. The Jawbone ERA is its latest Bluetooth design, which features an accelerometer, multi-processor architecture and Motion-X technology.

There is no need to remember where the buttons are on this Bluetooth device, as the device can accept commands through taps. Two quick double taps are enough to answer or end a call and 4 taps are required to switch on the pairing mode. The tapping/shaking stuff is empowered by MotionX, a company founded by Philippe Kahn, who is distinguished for inventing the camera phone. Its 25% larger speakers further refines the voice quality or HD sound.

Some other tools that make this tool unique is The Noise Assassin 3.0 (for proprietary noise cancellation/wind reduction voodoo), Caller ID By Name (which heralds a caller's name), enhanced battery life of 5.5 hours (which was previously 4.5 hours) and an amazing carrying case.

The Jawbone ERA will hit the Apple and Best Buy stores in four scintillating colors (Shadowbox, Smokescreen, Midnight and Silver Lining) by January 23 and be priced at $129.
