Robotic walking aids will assist the disabled who wish to walk without the crutches and use of wheelchairs. This new robotic walking aid developed in Japanese Universities may not be as useful as the Rex robotic leg, but is certainly a great device to help in rehabilitation and for prolonged use as well. The close-fitting walking aid is a kit which consists of a ‘battery, a motor, a computer and other gear that can be carried in a backpack.’ The assist isn’t all that cleanly done yet therefore the developer say, they should have a practical version of the robotic leg assistant ready by 2015. Hit the jump to see the walking aid in action.
