Japan shows dominance in robotics with wall climbing Yume Robo

Researchers in Japan have always been two steps ahead of the rest of world in robot technology. The country has again demonstrated its dominance by showcasing wall climbing robots at the Shanghai Expo. The robots, dubbed Yume Robo, have been showing off their Spider Man skill for the last 184 days.

The three robot team, which was created by a team of researchers and companies in Osaka, climbs 15-meter walls every 20 minutes. Weighing 30kg, each humanoid is dressed in silver work clothes and stands 140cm. For now there seems to be very little practical use of these wall climbers, but I hope the Japanese research team could modify them and use them as skyscraper window cleaners.
