Japan making no more toys for babies?

Posted By: Vikas Shekhawat | May 1 2006

Japan is no more making toys for babies. It's not that Japanese babies are too busy wrestling with robots to waste their time on toys, rather, there're not enough of them to cajole manufacturers to cater them anymore and apparently, the manufacturers have finally realized that people in their 'second childhood', are their future potential customers.

The falling population has forced Japanese toy makers to target adults with a little twist in the toys. Take this robotic doll introduced by Tommy, which is quite popular amongst women over the age of 60, which greet and talk to express her love for the owner. In the absence of real grandchildren, these toys are now successfully playing the role of actual grandsons and granddaughters. Even Nintendo is quite popular amongst adults and keeps them mentally fit with its brain teasing games.
