Israeli scientists develop toughest organic substance to make cheaper, lighter body armor

These might erode a super strong memory but they definitely help produce the toughest organic substance ever. We are talking about memory-robbing beta-amyloid protein found in patients with Alzheimer's disease, which according to Israeli scientists help create an organic substance harder than steel, the Kevlar and the bulletproof custard seen recently.

The new material is built by covering a fraction of amino acids with an additional protective layer to create super-strong spheres whose rigidity and stiffness surpasses even that of Kevlar. These microscopic spheres range in size from 30 nanometers to two micrometers. Easy to manipulate and manufacture, the transparent material could be used in a range of applications from bulletproof armor to stronger, lighter steel.
