Lenovo, a Chinese multinational technology company develops, manufacturers and markets laptops, PCs, workstations and other devices. Lenovo has recently developed a new video game system, iSec. This game system focuses on consumer market and is expected to launch in the mid of 2011 in China.

iSec system was unveiled by Eedoo, China’s largest PC maker and funded by Lenovo. iSec was previously referred as eBox and stands for Sports Entertainment Center. This system has Kinect like motion controls. iSec applies motion sensing technology where the players of the game can control the movements with hand gestures and body motions.
The Chinese government is more focused on the well being of the country and its people. The console games that were more focused on fun than entertainment were previously unapproved by the country’s government.
iSec system includes games related to exercise, Chinese martial art actions, or sports and adventure games involving skateboarding or fighting monsters. This system also acts a family friendly entertainment system to watch movies, listening music or even surfing the web. This gaming system focuses on millions of households in china.
China has a strong gaming market due to increased usage of internet. Unlike oversees gaming companies such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft which are banned from selling in china, iSec console game has taken its place in the Chinese market and is yet to take off its place in overseas market.
According to Lenovo chairman Liu Chuanzhi, some technological obstacles are present in unveiling this gaming system, as the market is not totally mature. As a result, this project will face challenges.
