Is Apple looking forward to backlit trackpads?
Apple has recently filed a patent that suggests that the company is looking forward to backlit trackpads.
The patent describes an 'improved feedback mechanism for touch pads', this also includes 'devices capable of illuminating the touch sensitive surface of the touch pad' and 'methods for providing visual feedback at the touch pad'.
Touch pads are already much easier to use that the mouse and to better things up Apple will integrate a system that will provide a visual alert that the system is registering a touch.
Apple is continuously looking for ways to improve user input devices, recently the company came up with backlit keyboards in its MacBook Pro notebook computers and now it looks that the company wants to illuminate the trackpad also...!
