Is Apple going for a Tablet Mac?
Rumours are rife that the next surprise from Apple might be - a Tablet Mac! Actually, what is fuelling the speculations is that throughout last year Apple continued to apply for numerous touch-screen technology patents that aren't simply attributable to the rumoured touch-screen iPod (that never came) because many of the patents have shown Mac OS X elements and interfaces.
In last September Apple filed for a patent called 'Operation of a computer with touch screen interface'. The patent describes the possible advantage of touch screens by being able to what it termed as - 'glean much more information about a user's actions' than from conventional keyboards.
That's it! Shows all the signs of a Tablet Mac in the offing, right? There is a renewed market interest in the Tablet PC after MS and Intel tied up for the Ultra Mobile PC.
So, Steve Jobs might have been skeptical about it way back when it was launched but now it may really be a change of heart!
