Terrorism and bomb attacks - the greatest fear lurking in everybody’s mind today. The world has become so unsafe to live in and it seems to be going worse. So what has been done by our scientists in this front, let us see.
In order to reduce the casualties at war the US Navy has entered into a third contract with iRobot to build more 213 bomb disposeable robots for the US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The contract costs $26 million for the manufacture of iRobot PackBot® Man Transportable Robotic Systems (MTRS) to satisfy the US Army’s needs of 1200 robots by 2012.
These PackBot MTRS robots are equipped with advanced tools and sensors so that helps the EOD technicians to identify and disrupt bombs from a safe distance thereby making battlefields less hostile by a tiny percent.
