Introduction of biometric ATMs may defend poor workers in rural India
Biometric ATM's have gained a good popularity and have a good response from the users all across the globe especially in Japan and Columbia. The biggest advantage of these biometric ATM's that use finger print readers to operate is its high security level against hacking.

AGS Infotech has taken an initiative to protect some poor farmers from suffering through the corrupt hand-me-down process. The Company is set to install 15 biometric ATMs at "village kiosks" in five districts across southern India.
Well this sounds great but the feasibility of the idea is very low as due to low literacy rates and exposure to modern technology these workers find it difficult to operate any type of computing interface. The system may even increase the crime rates, as it was easy for the criminals to chop the finger and extract the PIN on gunpoint.
What ever may be the outcome, the trial is slated to start soon. I think these kinds of initiatives are necessary to handle India's booming economy and so should be encouraged.
