Intel has been planning on some really interesting CPU architectures, for example the upcoming Intel Nehalem architecture. The CPU makes use of hafnium-based 45nm hi-k metal gate silicon technology, which results in smaller dies and reduced heat output. It also makes use of the QuickPath technology, which means you would be having a memory controller in the die, and very high-speed point-to point connects. Since the CPU is advanced, it would support DDR3 and Bloomfield is one of the first desktops to be launched in this line. Capella is the mobile version of Nehalem and Intel has solved many of the issues that were characteristic to it’s earlier CPUs. The Nehalem plans to be as fast as possible and also help in high speed data accessing. One can’t wait to know more about Nehalem, but will have to wait for some more time for further information.
