If your kid doesn’t want to brush his/her teeth, you might want to take a look at this very unique contraption that might just goad your kid into brushing twice everyday, and you never know, even more, just for the thrill of it. For this, Taiwan university researchers led by Hao-hua Chu have developed a simple innovative technique to persuade childeren into brushing regularly. For this, an LED module containing 3 LED’s are mounted onto one end of the toothbruch. This can be tracked by a a web camera mounted onto a mirror in front. The camera uses a computer software to track the movements of the toothbrush. This information is fed as an input into the computer which displays a game which the Taiwan university researchers have developed. The game basically displays a set of graphic colourful teeth which become white as and when the child moves his/her toothbrush over the teeth. By this, fun and interactive way of brushing teeth, children were actually brushing the teeth as shown by the researchers data. We say, very neat. And now, let’s hope that this technology comes in commercially to make kids do their brushing and prevent dentists getting richer.
