Intelligent-Systems to use 'bridge-vibration' to detect possible danger
Federal Highway Administration stats show about 25.8 percent of nation's 596,842 bridges on the verge of danger, which requires maintenance for further use in the coming times.

Wireless monitoring sensors for continuous monitoring of bridges and instant information on any danger has been suggested instead of Periodic visual inspections, which is presently used to inspect bridges. The only problem in providing power to several sensors is maintaining millions of batteries, which is both expensive and hazardous to environment.
However, not depending on batteries intelligent sensor system may see air-core tubular linear generator producing AC voltage, which uses the movement caused by vibrations whenever a vehicle passes on the bridge and converting it to DC for easy operation of sensors for decades.
Intelligent conversion system can raise the available power up to 500% and can used stored energy for measurement and wireless transmission efficiently.

Presently as a prototype, AmbioMote with high-impedance high-voltage energy harvester such as electromagnetic and piezoelectric generators is being manufactured and sold by AmbioSystems under a license from Clarkson University and hopes to look after the safety of bridges and thousands of lives in the future.
