Sitting at the pinnacle of CPU production, Intel now wishes to change the game with a similar process that’s video game makers employ to charge gamers extra for feature and weapon upgrades on the same disc they’ve bought. Reports have it that Intel is testing upgradable processors, wherein extra performance could be unlocked by a code and a payment of fee. The chips will have the extra power but would remain hidden unless you make a payment to unlock to be capable of enjoying the complete performance. Intel is currently testing this on the low-cost Pentium G6951 CPU, which on a $50 upgrade will unlock about 1MB of L3 cache and HyperThreading support. Sounds quite interesting, thoughts?
