With notebooks like the HP EliteBook 6930p, keeping the battery going for long hours can be a tricky issue. For the multitasking generation, it is essential that the SSDs match up to the high performance requirements. Intel has the perfect answer to that. The company has unveiled two consumer SSDs primed for high speed application start-ups and unmatched overall performance. The X18-M and X25-M are MLC NAND flash chip driven and measure 1.8-inch and 2.5 inch respectively. Apparently, the latter enhances battery lifetimes by 7pc. The 80GB X-25M will retail for $595, while the 160GB will be launched towards the end of this year. Pricing details are awaited for the X-18M.
