It still is a periphery when we talk about mainstream computing tasks for Intel as they don’t budge beyond graphics at present but going by the latest company revelations Intel has finally started thinking of more. Indeed, the expansion has already begun with Intel releasing the first renderings of the new family of chips that aim at graphics and beyond that. Dubbed the Larrabee (that is just a codename as of now), the new family of chips are rather unique with hundreds of processing units individually functioning on a single chip. These new chips would be on offer for the likes of Windows and Macintosh by the end of 2009 eventually announcing an expansion of domain for Intel.
