Intel understands the market like none other and therefore its success is understandable. Next in line is the ultra-thin processor, Pentium SU2700, which not only sheds weight but it also takes into consideration the power saving aspects - the target definitely being the mobile computing market. Intel is too judicious to know that by Q4, about one-fifth of its orders will be for a new generation of laptops that would be slimmer and energy efficient.
A substantiation of the fact is Acer and Asustek confirming that they would use the SU2700 processor and as always Microsoft has promised its software support. This development could assist the laptops taking on the netbooks in the coming future. We expect to see the SU2700 along with a few other Intel releases at Computex 2009.
