Indian students-developed Inclusive Planet is social networking site for blind

Numerous ways have been devised to make the blind rejoice worldly pleasures, full-screen Braille display that revolutionizes the way visually impaired use the internet and computers is just one of them. Yet a very large material accessible to the sighted remains inaccessible to the blind, but with the Inclusive Planet — a social networking site for the visually impaired — surfing the net definitely gets an all new meaning for the blind.

The website designed exclusively for the blind, lets the visually impaired connect with friends, create blogs, generate content or do just about anything you and me can possibly do on a social networking site. Developed by three former students of the National Law School of India, the site requires the users to use text-to-speech software that reads out content on the site. Running since October 2009, the site has over 4,000 members from 78 countries, who share their bits of life with the others in formats totally accessible to them.
