What's innovative?

Many computer manufacturers have jumped into making the all-in-one desktop PCs into touch compatible. However, the design has hardly undergone any change making it quite difficult for the user to feed inputs to the screen based on touch. This is where HP has shown a smart move by making the display of TouchSmart 610 in such a way that it can fold down comfortably if you want to use the touch screen for a longer duration. This additional feature makes the presence of touchscreen more practical.

Price and availability

The all-in-one desktop is available at most leading retailers for purchase for a price tag of $1399.99 and up depending upon your customizations. You can also buy it directly through the HP website or any other online retailer.

Accessories

HP TouchSmart 610 comes bundles with a wireless keyboard and mouse, therefore you wouldn't need to buy it separately while making your purchase. However, there are plenty of upgrades and accessories that HP provides you with and it's all up to you to decide which accessories would suit your needs. A word of advice - while purchasing it would be great if you get the Care Pack Service for at least a minimum of three years from HP.

The up side

HP has included some brilliant features to make sure that it stands tall among the crowd. Some of the features that are definitely worth mention are its flexible design, brilliant display quality, faster performance, good multitasking abilities, great screen resolution, HP TouchSmart Software (by far the best one among all touchscreen based all-in-one desktops) and the Beats Audio.

The down side

Although HP has done most of the things right for this model but there are some things that stick out like a sore thumb. Although TouchSmart 610 has incorporated HDMI in, it lacks an HDMI out. This means you cannot connect it to a HD TV and other entertainment devices.

Another point is the graphics that TouchSmart comes with. Although, it has a discrete AMD Radeon HD 5570 graphics processor with 1GB of dedicated RAM, it feels a bit primitive. This however, does not mean that it doesn't perform well but just that it wouldn't be able to handle graphic intense activities or 3D movies and games.

Our experience

HP has done quite well on its new line of TouchSmart 610, all-in-one desktop PCs. It has all the power to be a complete home based computer for both work and entertainment. The build and the quality of the PCs are also superb and using the PC in a reclined mode is very comfortable. I am really glad that HP thought of including this tiny yet very useful feature in TouchSmart 610. It makes more sense now to have a touchscreen based all-in-one PC.

The bottomline

HP's TouchSmart 610 is worth all your money and one of the best all-in-one desktop PCs in the market today. It has features that make sense and are usable. If you like Windows based system and aren't an extreme gamer, then this is the right all-in-one PC for you.
