AMD has been lagging in the race for quite some time now, there were times when Intel (undisputed leader in processors) was challenged by AMD (Lesser known king of those times) few years ago. But things have changed quite drastically ever since the advent of the Intel’s Core2Duo series. Intel has been going from strength to strength and AMD has been struggling to give them some real number crunching competition. I must say that recent happenings have been making AMD fans like me sad but here is something that we can be happy about (hopefully). AMD in a press event today announced that they too are adopting 45nm model for newer processors. This means that newer processors will be faster, quieter and cooler.
