Few weeks ago, Imation launched Apollo series of 2.5” portable HDDs. It consisted of three capacities, 160GB, 250GB and 320GB. On Wednesday, Imation announced and addition of 500 GB HDD to the line up. Apollo hard disk drives are pretty sleek at .5-inch and weight just less than half-a-pound. They connect to PC through USB 2.0 port and even use it as a source for power. Data transfer speed is quite good at 480Mbps. It is compatible with Windows 200, Mac OS 10.2.8, Linux 2.4 and higher Operating Systems. If you are planning to use it for your backup needs then leave it all on ‘Total Media Backup’ software that comes with the drive, for both Windows and Mac users. It can help you schedule backups or sync and restore files easily. These are only available in combination of black and chrome. The 500GB one is priced at $320, Whereas the 160 GB, 250GB and 320GB ones are being sold between $90 and $170.
