Illuminating the cycle and the cyclist in the night

Riding a bicycle in the night on a busy road is not only difficult but also dangerous. However, by correctly equipping the cycle with some special lighting system will make a lot of difference to the rider. A ‘Green Down Low Glow’ attached at the lower part of the cycle helps the rider get more attention. The light can be emitted for around 3 hours at a stretch without any recharge. Among the best tail lights available are the planet Bike Super Flash tail light and the Blackburn Mars 3.0 tail light. A Cateye HL-EL410 OptiCube headlight mounted on the handlebars helps provide headlight in flashing mode. The DiNotte helmet light attached to the rider’s helmet illuminates the road ahead for speeds upto about 12mph. 3M Scotchlite tape attached on the rim of the helmet gives some extra reflective space. Apart from the illuminating headgear, the cyclist could further illuminate himself with fluorescent yellow reflective ribbon, Glo Gloves, flash bags and reflective leg bands.
