iCub light sport aircraft’s cockpit is graced with an iPad

When everything wants a share of the iPad, how could the aviation industry slip by without their effort to club the Apple’s genius in their thick of things? SportairUSA’s new iCub light sport aircraft cockpit is where the iPad finds a place for itself. A special space has been created for the iPad in middle of the cockpit’s instrument panel. The iPad here scales down the entire buttons and dial system to a display, which makes navigation and other functions transparent and simple to carry out. Besides the interface of the iPad what makes its installation in the iCab versatile is apps that the iPad would come pre-installed with.

These flight oriented apps range from WingX Pro7 navigation software, ForeFlight Mobile HD to the virtual heads-up display, the iHUD. The iCub is a two man aircraft which allows iPhone to be synced with the iPad on board to allow communication. There isn’t a word on the price yet, but we guess this whole package of the iCub aircraft and iPad with pre-installed apps would be cheaper that the other such aircraft with GPS units.
