IceCube: The World's largest Telescope
What lies beyond the stars?
This unquenchable thirst to see beyond the stars and the passion dig out the reason behind this enigma called life laid down the foundation of 'The Polar Neutrino Observatory', also referred as the 'IceCube Project'.

The project is near its completion and the IceCube neutrino telescope will be used to track signs of cosmic neutrinos.
The IceCube telescope is under construction at the National Science Foundation's Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and will be deployed in all respects till 2011. IceCube depends on strings of light-sensing modules frozen deep in crystal clear Antarctic ice and are used to detect signs of high-energy cosmic neutrinos emitted by distant galactic collisions and black holes as they flit through the Earth. The information can used to unfold the mystery of gamma ray bursts, dark matter and supernovas.
