Hynix to use DDR3 technology in R-DIMMs

Hynix will be using MetaRAM's DDR3 technology in its next generation R-DIMMs, which includes what is being touted as the world's first 16GB 2-rank DIMM. The 16GB and 8GB (HMT31GR7AER4C-GC) 2-rank DIMMs are set to become the world's highest memory capacity devices. Surprisingly, the efficiency and performance will remain unaffected and the technology is similar to DDR2 technology. Perhaps, it is the only technology that operates at 1066 million transactions per/sec when it comes to a 24GB DDR3 SDRAM. Now we can expect Hynix to release some really advanced but affordable R-DIMMs by using 1GB DRAMs.
