It's called Hydroflex by the inventor and can withstand a blow from a spike, blade or even won't let a bullets dare to cross it. You will be wondering as why to make an issue of it. Quit possible in today's hi-tech world. But, not a wonder even if I say it's just as thin as a paper? Well, according to the inventor,

Liquid is in the fabric by impregnation, hardens on impact, and melts back within time
It remains flexible under normal motion, but incredibly absorbs energy to transform itself into rigid body.
