Another robot to mimic humans — is there an end to this mechanical stupidity? We are tired seeing these robots pop up every now and then, with their maker’s claiming them to be ever so like humans. We’ve seen Mahru and the Heart Robot, and if we thought they were good at their bits and chores, here is Jules, a humanoid robot that mimics facial expressions and lip movements of us humans so realistically.
What’s innovative:
The University of Bristol-developed project Jules uses software to imitate the human expression; his facial expressions are as real as the software can make them to be. Made in flexible rubber skin and embedded with 34 internal motors to control the expressions, Jules uses a video camera at 25 frames per second to pick expressions of the bystander, responding in 10 pre-stocked human emotions.

Watch this:
The engineers from the University of Bristol developed Jules for a project entitled “Human-Robot Interaction.” Humanoid robots have evolved over a period, from sci-fi movies to real-time figures. We don’t doubt the brains behind these machines and firmly believe they will make the bot ever so human-like over time. But the question looms – besides their utility, would we be calling upon our own fate with their mechanical behaviors?
